The fish are biting! Come and fish some of the best fishing lakes of Minnesota. Walleye, bass, northern pike and lake trout are the noted species. Stop at Spirit of the Wilderness Outfitter and pick up your live bait and tackle before starting your adventure. Open at 6:00am - 9:00pm each day Mid-May through September 30. 

Step into our clean bait shop area and you will note it does not smell like most bait shops. Each day we clean and restock our tanks ensuring you receive fresh and lively bait. Our bait is Minnesota harvested and kept at the optimum temperature from delivery to Ely to the moment we bag it for you.  Each bag of bait has oxygen added at no additional charge.

• Remember to temper your bait by floating your bagged bait in the lake prior to placeing bait in your bucket or live well. This will equalize water temperatures and not shock the bait.

We stock 5-6 types of minnows, 3 sizes of leeches and night crawlers.  Be assured our bait is fresh as we take delivery 3-4 times each week during the season.
