Starting your Trip
Do you need transportation to your BWCA or Quetico entry point? Spirit of the Wilderness Outfitters provides ground transportation from local airports, to entry points and towboat service on permitted lakes. Call to set an appointment and we will be ready when you arrive.
Ground or towboat
We provide ground transportation to/from the Ely, Duluth, Hibbing and International Falls airports, all BWCAW entry points and towboat service on the Moose Lake chain, to Prairie Portage and Basswood Lake, Snowbank Lake to Boot Lake portage, and Burntside Lake to Crab Lake portage. We are specially permited by the USFS and operate our own vans and towboats. This means we are able to meet your travel needs on time.
Do you need your vehicle at a different exit point than where you entered? Let us spot your vehicle for you so it is waiting for your return.
Quetico fly-in
How about a fly-in and a paddle out or across the Quetico ? Let us coordinate air travel for your group to Beaverhouse, Nym, or Mack Lake entries.
Air service can only have only 1 external load of canoes strapped on a float. We specially order kevlar canoes to rent that nest one inside another enabling 2 canoes to meet the requirement.
You may need a Remote Area Border Crossing (RABC) to enter Canada. We'll send you the necessary forms for you to submit to the Canadian Immigration Service 4-6 weeks prior to the start of your Quetico entry. This will allow you to by-pass Canadian Customs.
Call for details and let us hlep you plan your next BWCAW or Quetico adventure.
